Feet and Doctor+: an evening antistress based on the shiatsu principle
The foot has a huge number of receptors. In reflexology it is believed to hold projections of all organs: the head on the toes, the chest on the pads, the abdomen in the arch, the pelvis on the heels. If a certain point on the foot hurts “differently from the rest”, the author sees it as a reason to listen to yourself.
The shiatsu principle
When you step on a bump, the tissues at that point are compressed. Once the pressure is released, fresh blood flows to the spot and the capillaries widen. “Press — release — the spot gets healthier,” is how Dr Malko describes the shiatsu principle. The Doctor+ massager is built on it: two platforms with 226 tourmaline bioceramic “pyramids”, one warm and one cool.
Stress is useful by day but harmful at night
During the day stress mobilises us. But if it doesn’t “switch off” by the evening, the brain cannot calmly restore the body at night: sleep is disrupted and you wake up tired. The author explains that an intense but short stimulus to the feet triggers the release of endorphins — the “happiness hormones”. When the sensation passes, relief comes, and the day’s problems no longer seem so big.
How to use it
- Stand barefoot on Doctor+ in the evening for a few minutes.
- Alternate the warm and cool platforms — the contrast trains the leg vessels.
- Start gently and increase the time gradually.
- Then enjoy a calm evening and sleep.
A few minutes a day — and your legs feel light and your head calm.
